Dr Sketchy Nottingham - August 2012

As you may already know, I co-host the Nottigham branch of Dr Sketchy's Anti Art School with my good pal Scarlett Daggers. Saturday was our 3rd Birthday! I can't believe it's been so long! We were joined by singing sensation Coco Malone and burlesque divas Marianne Cheesecake and Eliza Delite. Here are a few photos from Saturday's show, taken by the fabulous Martyn Boston of Nomad Photography.

It's always a pleasure running Dr Sketchy, although we always have lots new people in our audience, the atmosphere feels to me like a group of old friends getting together and we always have so much banter and giggles with the performers, some are old friends and some become new friends!

After the show me, Maid Matthew,  Marianne Cheesecake and my work buddies (and talented artists) Leona Preston and Siobhan Sands treated ourselves to a Yo Sushi blow out (as is Dr Sketchy Notts tradition - much salty food, wasabi and raw fish was consumed!) and then met back up with Scarlett, Eliza Delite and a couple of other familiar faces including Aislinn of Boo Boo Kitty Couture, Rose Desire (who has modelled at one of our past shows) and performer (and arty sketching regular at our show) Mimi Libertine! Mimi had been kind enough to invite us to a vintage fashion launch party at the Hopkinsons on Station Street. We had a fab time browsing vintage goodies and sipping cocktails!

After returning home we warmed up the turntable and had a little bop along to Coco Malones' band Root and the Groove Element's new EP over a cup of tea! Ahh a perfect day!
